The much anticipated launch of the Sony Fx9 in 2020 did not disappoint. Following on from the success of the FS7, the FX9 brought with it a myriad of upgrades and improvements. Having both full frame and super 35 scan modes, a variety of recording codecs, frame rates and video formats, the FX9 can be easily adjusted for a huge range of filming needs.
The camera has a full frame 6K dual native sensor, automatic variable ND, 15 stops of dynamic range, face tracking autofocus and extremely effective in camera stabilization. The camera comes with timecode in/out, a feature that was hugely missed on the FS7.
The FX9 comes with Sony’s E lens mount but can easily be adapted to accommodate lenses from Canon, Fujinon, Zeiss and many others.
